It is commonly touted that the global population is somewhat around the 7-8 Billion mark. Out of that number, there are more estimates that claim well over a billion people (and that number is growing daily) have a regular online presence in one form or another through various digital devices.
It is NOT our desire nor interest or even within our capacity to be the ones to “cater” for such a humongous online growing hosting thirst as that is a SHARED responsibility that should involve millions of others in a distributed manner.
In fact for any “ONE” person or “ORGANIZATION” to so desire (the control/domination of) such a feat is nothing short of TYRANNY on the part of such a person or organization. That sort of over-ambitious action could only have one combined end result which would be that of absolute totalitarian dictatorship and modernized feudalism that even expands beyond the digital realm.
The internet was originally constructed out of command and control militarization objectives but over time and through use it has become a tool capable of achieving the one very thing that has escaped humanity for centuries which is itself the “appreciation” of humanity and not its destruction.
Only when its use is decentralized can it, and will it, be the tool many hope and dream for in order to bridge many of the divides that have plagued humans for centuries. We sincerely hope that many more people will put in the due effort necessary to understand and participate in decentralizing the internet by simply having more people prudently setting up small-medium scale infrastructure in a distributed manner to help provision services on the internet for others rather than being complicit and falling head over heels for the “convenience” killing me softly trap
By others (which includes YOU…yes YOU!) simply putting in the effort to understand and then learn how they can also help do what we do (even if you do it as a business as “charity” is only an illusion that fosters subtle dependencies and vulnerabilities in the first place) then they can proudly, with true integrity, stand tall knowing they have not helped to participate (abstention is a powerful tool) in building their own prison walls.
There is plenty of digital space on the internet for others (so you do not need to become obsessed with competition and controlled opposition tactics) as there is no need to cut-throat or sabotage each other as there is room for plenty so why not put in the effort to first understand this and then do what you can do to help carry the load for others by simply also taking any digital skills you have and provisioning hosting for others. The reality is that any “billion” (and growing daily) strong internet needs millions of distributed hands to shoulder the capacity load. If, on the other hand, you leave it to “one” or a “handful” of pre-selected behemoth organizations then you position yourself for inordinate subservience and it is only a matter of time before they will come to dictate and consume you (yes! the chickens will come home to roost) because you helped build your own prison walls…and you can not “blame” them for doing so as the sad truth will be that it was you (the people) through being complicit and via a measure of ignorance/hopium who actually made it all happen!
